Self Defense Workshops

Self Defense Workshops

We offer standard self defense programs as well as personal safety training tailored to your group and your specific needs.

?
OUR MOST POPULAR PROGRAMS

Seminar only: one speaker to discuss prevention, avoidance, and the key steps to keeping yourself and your colleagues and family safe. We suggest a minimum of 1.5 hours.

Seminar + physical tactics: learn how to plan for your safety and how to react to possible threats. Staffing and fee depend on the size of your group.

We suggest a minimum of 2 hours.

Total workshop: The greatest learning occurs when you physically practice or walk through these skills yourself. In participatory workshops of three or more hours, you will learn

*awareness

*how to NOT be chosen as a victim

*verbal tactics to turn around a potentially dangerous situation

*how to quickly defend yourself (standing or on the ground)

*how to just as quickly get to safety

CUSTOM WORKSHOPS

can be arranged for any organization, school or group that wants a specialized program for its members. Custom Workshops focus on your situations and  natural strengths to develop techniques and tactics that work best for you.

Program Description We can reinforce your safety protocols or help you develop personal safety “armor” that goes with you everywhere. We work with adults or teens, in the workplace or in your private life; and can address office safety, family safety, gender violence, and relationship or domestic abuse.

You will learn basic self-defense principles, how to prevent an assault, how to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, verbal skills for stopping or preventing all levels of abuse, and physical defense and escape options.

The specific content of each workshop is tailored to your group’s unique needs and desires. DCSDKA’s staff will work with the sponsoring organization to determine the desired goals and structure a program to meet those goals.

Program Fees depend on number of participants, instructors required, program length, space and equipment requirements, and other factors.

For more information or to arrange a workshop for your organization or group, call 202-328-1203 or email dcsdka@earthlink.net.
